The history of Carnton is amazing. The home was turned into a make-shift hospital during the Battle of Franklin. The owners, John and Carrie McGavock designated two acres of land adjacent to their family cemetery as a final burial place for nearly 1,500 Confederate soldiers killed during the Battle of Franklin. 

This one makes me cry every time...

A book has been written about Carrie. "The Widow of the South"

I love visiting Carnton. If we happen to be in Frankin, there is no doubt that I want to at least drive by and say hello. It's interesting how strongly I feel about a place we just discovered a few years ago. From the moment I caught my first glimpse, I was smitten. I'm sure you can tell. ;)

Time to Breathe

Yep, we are still trying to breathe around here.

 We were recently offered some special time to retreat and relax with some dear friends who counsel pastors and pastor's wives for a living, and we jumped at the chance. We still need to work out some of those lingering feelings that make our stomaches twist in knots.

So this weekend The Man and I are getting away for a while. 

And we really need it, lemme tell ya. 

Because honestly, sometimes, this is what I feel like...

Lets just say it's pretty, but it's also a mess.

 I am praying that we both relax and completely decompress before we have to head back to life.

Little Red House Photo Shoot

    See my new blog header?? L.O.V.E. Yesterday, just for fun and because the weather was so lovely, the kids and I ran up to my friend Amber's house. She has this adorable little red storage house in her backyard that I have always thought would be a great backdrop for kiddo pictures. So, I loaded the kids up and promises of sonic milkshakes if they all cooperated. {I have 5 kids after all. It's HARD to get em' all smiling and looking at the camera at. the. same. time.} Here are my 2 favs...
